Chinese New Year, Chinatown - Friday 27th January 2017 to Sunday 29th January 2017
The year of the Rooster comes to Liverpool, and there's lots of different activities happening around the City Centre this January.
Starting on Friday 27th January, the #CNYLumiere projections will light up the Chinese Arch, the Black-E and The Arch (formerly known as the Scandanaviam Hotel) for an hour each night. Telling the story of Jingwei and the Ocean, the 12 minute show will be running on a loop from 7.30 - 8.30pm Saturday night, and between 5.00 - 6.00pm on Sunday.
Bold Street will be full of colour with the installation of thousands of Chinese lanterns suspended across the street.
Sunday the 29th will see the traditional celebrations taking place in Great George Square with a series of street performances, family workshops, parades and of course the popular Chinese market.

A fantastic season of events and performances, inspired by the golden anniversary of the Summer of Love. The Summer of 1967, saw avant-garde art force its way into the mainstream changing the world as we know it forever.

Mersey River Festival, Waterfront - Friday 23rd June to Sunday 25th June 2017
Liverpool's maritime heritage is celebrated in June, with the arrival of the Mersey River Festival. Alongside tall ships from all over the world, visitors will be treated to everything from air displays to river racing to watersports.
More details will be announced nearer to the date. If you're planning to visit the waterfront for the festival, remember that the ferry is a great way to take in the whole of Liverpool's UNESCO waterfront.
