Investment Manager

Main Duties:
Liverpool City Region Combined Authority
Investment Manager - £49,786 - £59,443
We have established a Strategic Investment Fund (“SIF”) to administer our devolved funding and deliver our emerging policy priorities, which we are capturing in our emerging Local Industrial Strategy, Spatial Development Strategy, Housing Strategy and Mayoral Transport Plan.  The Commercial Development and Investment Team‘s work is to identify, assemble and fund projects that improve the economy in an inclusive way.  We offer a range of financial instruments from grant through debt and equity, seeking always to recycle what funding we can and crowd in other investors. The remit is broad – no team member is expert in everything – and we work together underwrite well.
The team prides itself on our diverse background and commercial acumen. When we identify an opportunity, we increasingly help partners assemble it into a fundable, deliverable shape. We work to an investment panel of nationally recognised investment and economic development experts, and team members have exposure to these experts.
We also develop large scale projects capable of transforming the City Region’s economy. Current, major projects include a nationally significant tidal energy range on the Mersey, a fibre loop for the whole City Region and a “One Front Door” inward investment service.
Taken together, we are working on many of the City Region’s highest profile development and investment projects, negotiating a good deal and the best impact for the Combined Authority. We aim to become the UK’s most effective public investment team.
The Role
We are recruiting for an Investment Manager to join our team. We are looking for highly motivated, creative individuals with the passion to make a difference at work.  Candidates may have expertise in transport; housing (whether finance, strategic land, major developments or partnerships); corporate and public finance; development surveying (including property development and regeneration or project management. If you come from one of these backgrounds, please include details in your personal statement.   If your expertise lies elsewhere but you have skills and aptitude to add to our team, we are still keen to talk.
