 Local Highways Maintenance Challenge Fund

The Government has made £75m available for local highway authorities in England to bid for major maintenance projects that are otherwise difficlut to fund through the usual funding allocations they recieve.

The funding is for projects to be delivered during 2017/18 and the Liverpool City Region partner authorities have been invited to submit applications for this funding. The maximum amount of funding any one project can recieve is £5m. It is also a condition of the funding that the authority submitting an application must provide at least 10% of the total scheme costs.

As a Combined Authority, one bid per constituent authority that make up the Liverpool City Region can be submiited and the Combined Authority must then rank these bids to indicate the relative priority they attach to each other.

Four bids are being submitted by the Liverpool City Region as ranked below:-
