New Maghull North station proposals on show at public information event

Published on 20/11/2015
Local residents will have their chance to find out more information and have their say on a proposed new station in Maghull at a public information event on Tuesday 24th November at Maghull Town Hall.

The event is being held to allow public feedback on the plans for a new station called Maghull North, which would be located just off School Lane in Maghull on the Ormskirk branch of the Merseyrail network Northern Line.

The proposals for the station include a 200-space car park, step-free access to both platforms, ticket office, secure cycle parking, passenger waiting facilities and toilet.

The development is an example of Merseytravel’s Long Term Rail Strategy being put into action – a 30 year vision to improve connections within the Liverpool city Region and beyond. This, in turn, fits with plans to improve connection across the whole of the north.

The event takes place on Tuesday 24th November at Maghull Town Hall from 2pm to 8pm. Representatives from the Maghull North project team will be on hand to answer questions about the scheme.

Anyone who is unable to attend or would like to find out more or comment on the proposal can visit the website at www.merseytravel.gov.uk/MaghullNorth or email comments@merseytravel.gov.uk.

The closing date for comments is 5th January 2016.
