Travelling within the Liverpool City Region

If you’re travelling within the Liverpool City Region

Journeys through Liverpool Lime Street station will be affected for eight weeks, from 2nd June to 29th July 2018, while Network Rail carries out these improvements works.

Key advice:

  • You will still be able to get where you want to go, it will just mean you may have to make some changes to your journey.
  • Leave more time for your journeys. Additional journey time estimates are given where possible to help you plan.
  • Where possible, check up to a month before you travel to confirm train timetables and bookings.
  • Check before you travel even if you aren’t travelling through Liverpool Lime Street station as some Merseyrail services will be different during the Lime Street closure.
  • Stick to public transport wherever possible to help keep the City Region moving.
  • There will be additional staff on hand to help at key interchanges - if you need help/advice or have a question, please speak to them.
  • Train services and rail replacement buses will be busy so please allow extra times for your journeys and consider your transport options – commercial bus services may be a good alternative.
  • If possible speak to your employer about whether there is any flexibility in working times or times you could avoid travelling altogether.
