Bus and Rail Strikes

People travelling to, from and within the Liverpool City Region are being urged to plan their journeys and check before they travel, due to proposed industrial action taking place on the public transport network during the next couple of weeks.

The action affects bus and rail services and as we don’t now how long it will continue, it is best to plan your journeys on a regular basis.

Bus

There is planned strike action by members of Unite and GMB on Arriva services from:

Wednesday 20 July for a continuous, indefinite period

This  will affect all Arriva services in the Liverpool City Region.

Rail

A number of unions have announced further strike action, co-ordinated across several train operators and Network Rail, on:

  • Saturday August 13 - ASLEF
  • Thursday 18 August - RMT and TESSA
  • Saturday 20 August - RMT and TESSA

This means services will be severely reduced on city lines in out of Lime Street Station on the day of the strikes.

Train operators are advising essential travel only and that disruption is also expected on days either side of the strike days.
