Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, bus services are subject to change depending on national government advice. We are working closely with transport operators as the Coronavirus situation develops. Below are links to the Arriva and Stagecoach websites as well as to Merseytravels own Coronavirus page with details of changes to services run by local operators:
Arriva Stagecoach Coronavirus: Bus Service Updates
The latest registered timetable changes for services across Merseyside are available on the Merseytravel website. Services may be subject to short notice changes during the current pandemic. Please note that, in many cases, the downloadable PDF timetables may not reflect any covid reductions and that temporary timetables are available to download from the operators' own website (see links above):
Monday 4 April
Service 22/X22 will now be operated by Al's Coaches - some minor time changes.
Monday 5 April
Monday 5 April is a bank holiday and as such bus services will generally operate to a Sunday timetable.
The health and safety of both customers and staff is a number one priority for Merseytravel.
That’s why we are continuing to follow national Government advice and we’re working closely with rail, bus and other transport operators to provide necessary services as safely as possible.
As of the 29 March you should minimise travel where possible. You can find out more details of what you can now do on the Government website.
You are encouraged to walk and cycle if you can, especially if you live within a mile or two of your school, leaving public transport available for those who live a little further away.
Buses and trains are running to get you to and from school, and social distancing still applies. Check out our top tips below and please check directly with rail and bus operators for the last service information and timetables on a regular basis as things may change.
Arrangements for different schools will vary, so it is vital that you check directly with your own school to understand any local arrangements being put in place.
Dedicated school bus services that specifically serve a school are running. For details please see our Buses which serve schools page. As they are dedicated services for that school, social distancing is not required on these services but is encouraged where possible.
On commercial bus operator services, used by other passengers, social distancing is still required and as a result capacity remains reduced.
We’ve got some important information and advice to help them there and back and keep everyone safe. For more information please visit the Rethink Travel campaign on the Merseytravel website before you travel. If you do need to use public transport you can plan your journey using the Merseytravel Journey Planner.
For information on any changes please check with the rail operator you are travelling with.
There are currently no planned engineering works on our network.
We continue to remind passengers that they must follow government-issued advice and keep journeys to a minimum.
For further details, and information regarding any additional changes, please visit the Merseyrail website.
The Queensway (Birkenhead) Mersey Tunnel will be closed to all traffic on the following nights whilst we undertake essential maintenance work:
