As Covid restrictions are gradually easing bus services across the region continue to alter. Please note that although every effort has been made to update all our timetables to reflect current services across the network, it is possible that in some cases the downloadable PDF timetable may not reflect the current Covid changes to a particular service, in these instances temporary timetables should be available to download from the operators' own website (see links below). The health and safety of both customers and staff is a number one priority for Merseytravel.
That’s why we are continuing to follow national Government advice and we’re working closely with rail, bus and other transport operators to provide necessary services as safely as possible.
As of Monday 12 April we are in Step 2 of the Government Roadmap that includes the re-opening of non-essential retail, hair dressers and salons and some outdoor hospitality and attractions. You can find out more details of what you can now do on the Government website.
You are encouraged to walk and cycle if you can, especially if you live within a mile or two of your school, leaving public transport available for those who live a little further away.
Buses and trains are running to get you to and from school, and social distancing still applies. Check out our top tips below and please check directly with rail and bus operators for the last service information and timetables on a regular basis as things may change.
Arrangements for different schools will vary, so it is vital that you check directly with your own school to understand any local arrangements being put in place.
Dedicated school bus services that specifically serve a school are running. For details please see our Buses which serve schools page. As they are dedicated services for that school, social distancing is not required on these services but is encouraged where possible.
On commercial bus operator services, used by other passengers, social distancing is still required and as a result capacity remains reduced.
We’ve got some important information and advice to help them there and back and keep everyone safe. For more information please visit the Rethink Travel campaign on the Merseytravel website before you travel. For information on any changes please check with the rail operator you are travelling with.

We continue to remind passengers that they must follow government-issued advice.
