From the 1st September 2015, the age eligibility for young persons' tickets will be extended to 18 years and under.
This means you can continue to benefit from travel discounts, for a much longer period of time or you may now be able to buy and enjoy travel on a Young Person's ticket.
Bus, Train, Ferry
The one-day, off-peak ticket for buses, trains and Mersey Ferries* Monday to Friday (except for journeys scheduled to start between 6.31am and 9.29am) and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays. All-Areas Saveaways extend to the whole of Merseyside – as far as Chester, Ellesmere Port and Ormskirk (by rail only).
*You must hold an All-Areas Saveaway for Mersey Ferry direct river crossings only. Saveaways cannot be used on River Explorer cruises.
Saveaway Ticket Options
Saveaway is now available on a smartcard! Smart Saveaways are available to buy from any PayPoint store or Merseytravel Centre across the whole of Merseyside. The smart Saveaways are replacing the traditional ‘scratch off’ Saveaways.
There are two other ways to buy Saveaways that won’t be moving onto a smartcard. You can still buy paper versions of Saveaway from any staffed rail station as well as from ticket vending machines at any Merseytravel Centre across Merseyside.
