Lower Lane (southbound only), between Brookfield Drive and East Lancashire Road, will be closed from Friday 17 July 2026 for approximately 8 days.
Bus diversions are as follows:
Services 17 and 17A
• From Liverpool will be unaffected.
• From Aintree University Hospital/Kirkby will be as normal route to Lower Lane, then via Brookfield Drive, Long Lane, Stopgate Lane, East Lancashire Road, Townsend Avenue, then as normal route to Liverpool. (Omits a section of Lower Lane and a section of East Lancashire Road).
Alternative bus stop: Aintree University Hospital, Lower Lane, near Delagoa Road, stop H and Townsend Avenue, near Sedgemoor Road.
Service 62
• From Penny Lane will be unaffected.
• From Bootle will be as normal route to Lower Lane, then via Brookfield Drive, Long Lane, Stopgate Lane, Parthenon Drive, Strawberry Road, Townsend Avenue, Utting Avenue East, Lorenzo Drive, Muirhead Avenue, then as normal route to Penny Lane. (Omits a section of Lower Lane, Lower House Lane, Dwerryhouse Lane and Muirhead Avenue East).
Alternative bus stop: Aintree University Hospital, Lower Lane, near Delagoa Road, stop H and Muirhead Avenue, near Liddell Road.
Service 102
• From Broadgreen Hospital will be unaffected.
• From Aintree University Hospital will be as normal route to Lower Lane, then via Brookfield Drive, Long Lane, Stopgate Lane, East Lancashire Road, Lower House Lane, then as normal route to Broadgreen Hospital. (Omits a section of Lower Lane).
Alternative bus stop: Aintree University Hospital, Broadway, Main Entrance, stop E and Lower House Lane, near West Derby Cemetery.
