Planned changes to rail services

City and Other Lines:

Monday 13 July to Thursday 16 July 2026

Engineering work is taking place between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street, closing some lines.

  • The 20:26 Cleethorpes to Liverpool Lime Street will not call at Urmston, Irlam, Birchwood, Warrington Central and Liverpool South Parkway.
  • The 23:19 Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Airport will not call at Liverpool South Parkway, Warrington Central, Birchwood, Irlam and Urmston.

Rail replacement bus services will run between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street, calling at Urmston, Irlam, Birchwood, Warrington Central and Liverpool South Parkway.

Monday 13 July to Thursday 16 July 2026

Engineering work is taking place between Deansgate and Warrington Central, closing some lines. The following services will be amended:

  • 22:47 Manchester Oxford Road to Liverpool Lime Street service will start from Warrington Central. A bus will be provided from Manchester Oxford Road to Liverpool Lime Street, stopping to drop off only at Warrington Central

  • 22:49 Warrington Central to Manchester Oxford Road train service will not run and will be replaced by a bus

  • 23:28 Manchester Oxford Road to Liverpool Lime Street service will not run and will be replaced by a bus

  • 23:36 Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Oxford Road service will not run and will be replaced by a bus

Tuesday 14 July to Friday 17 July 2026

Engineering work is taking place between Liverpool Lime Street and Warrington Central, closing some lines.

  • The 06:49 Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich service will start from Warrington Central at 07:17. For travel between Liverpool Lime Street and Widnes, you should use other train services. A replacement bus will run between Widnes and Warrington Central.

Saturday 18 July 2026

Engineering work is taking place between Liverpool Lime Street and Warrington Central, closing some lines.

  • The 06:49 Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich service will start from Warrington Central at 07:17. For travel between Liverpool Lime Street and Widnes, you should use other train services. A replacement bus will run from Widnes at 06:52 to Warrington Central.
