Planned changes to rail services
City and Other Lines:
Monday 29 June to Wednesday 1 July 2026
Engineering work is taking place between Broad Green and Liverpool Lime Street, closing various lines on Monday to Wednesday evenings. As a result:

The 22:20 Blackpool North to Liverpool Lime Street service will not call at stations between St Helens Central and Liverpool Lime Street. A bus will be provided from St Helens Central to Liverpool Lime Street, calling at intermediate stations

The 22:44 Wilmslow to Liverpool Lime Street service will terminate at Manchester Piccadilly. A bus will be provided from Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool Lime Street

The 23:30 Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Victoria service will depart earlier at 23:20 and run earlier than normally advertised to Broad Green. A bus will be provided from Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Victoria, departing Liverpool Lime Street at 23:30 and stopping to drop off only from Broad Green onwards
Monday 29 June and Wednesday 1 July 2026
Engineering work is taking place between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street, closing all lines on Monday and Wednesday nights.
- Monday and Wednesday only: The 22:00 London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street service will terminate at Crewe. A replacement bus will run from Crewe to Liverpool Lime Street via Runcorn. On Tuesday and Thursday this train will run as normal.

Northern Line:
There are no planned engineering works on the Northern line this week.
Wirral Line:
There are no planned engineering works on the Wirral line this week.

Planned Mersey Tunnels Closures
The Queensway (Birkenhead) Mersey Tunnel will be closed whilst we undertake essential maintenance work during the following times:
- From 2100 Monday 29 June until 0630 Tuesday 30 June
- From 2100 Tuesday 30 June until 0630 Wednesday 1 July
- From 2100 Wednesday 1 July until 0630 Thursday 2 July
- From 2100 Thursday 2 July until 0630 Friday 3 July
