Woodchurch Road will be closed, between Ackers Road and Church Lane, on Friday 31 July 2026, between 1900 and Midnight; then from Monday 3 August until Friday 7 August 2026, between 1900 and Midnight each night.
Bus diversions are as follows:
Services 16, 17, 418, 423, 471 and 472
- From Eastham Rake, New Ferry and Liverpool will travel as normal to Woodchurch Road, then via Ackers Road, Home Farm Road, Church Lane to Arrowe Park Road, then as normal routes to Arrowe Park Hospital, Birkenhead, Seacombe Ferry and Heswall (omitting a section of Woodchurch Road).
These services will call at the stops on Woodchurch Road, near Palmwood Close; and Arrowe Park Hospital, Stop C.
Services 418, 423, 471 and 472
- From Birkenhead Bus Station, Seacombe Ferry and Heswall will travel as normal to Arrowe Park Road, then via Church Lane, Home Farm Road, Ackers Road to Woodchurch Road, then as normal routes to New Ferry and Liverpool (omitting a section of Woodchurch Road).
These services will call at the stops at Arrowe Park Hospital, Stop C; and Woodchurch Road, opposite Palmwood Close.
